CHIEF PROMISES TO HALT LATE-NIGHT DRAG RACING

I can't believe the comment I read in this article made by Chief Francis stating that he was not aware of the situation until Senator Berry brought it to his attention!!! What a joke! Either his secretary and staff do not give him his telephone messages or he is plain out lying! No, how can that possibly be?
I live on St. Thomas in the Solberg area. I have called numerous weekends. My husband has called as well, to include talking twice with Chief Francis' secretary who acknowledged they are all aware of the problem. Now he makes this ridiculous comment of having no knowledge? I've never heard so much nonsense! But, then again, I am not surprised. After all, this is the Virgin Islands Police Department we are talking about.
Not only is the peace being disturbed when everyone is trying to get their sleep (as most of us work on Monday mornings), but they are also endangering the lives of others. If they want to drag race that bad, let them get together and raise funds to build a track somewhere else, then they can race all night while we are sleeping and sleep all day while we are working.
Let's see if Chief Francis' so called "strong enforcement and police presence" will come to fruition. Those who have their time to waste drag racing up and down the highway at 1 and 2 in the morning obviously don't have lives and especially don't give a damn who they are keeping awake! Actually, they only care about themselves. Some of us have real jobs, real responsibilities and lives to live and don't have the time to waste like they do!!!!
