SERVICE MONDAY FOR VICTOR EMANUEL MONSANTO

Jan. 11, 2004 — Victor Emanuel Monsanto of Brookman, St. Thomas, died Jan. 2 in New York at the age of 83. Known as San-To, he was a retired Police officer, and had also worked at V.I. Public Works department.
Viewing will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at New Herrnhut Moravian Church. The funeral will follow the viewing at 10 a.m., with burial at Brookman and arrangements by Davis Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Lucia Monsanto; daughters, Naomi, Shirley and Pauline Monsanto and Acia Monsanto Donahue; sons, Clarence and Allessio Monsanto; sister, Naomi Monsanto Vessup; adopted son, Halvor VanHeyningen; adopted daughters, LaVerne Best Yard and Karen Goza; son-in-law, Victor Donahue Jr.; daughter-in-law, Ivy Thomas Monsanto; sisters-in-law, Mildred A. Lang, Cheryl Mason and Yvonne Monsanto; nieces, Jean P. Simmonds, Janet D. Foster, Mary Ham, Joan and Elodia Williams, Dorothy Weeks, Marjorie Henry, Jane John, Lorraine roumo, and Ester Bressendorf; nephews, Raphael Lang, John Trotman, Reuben Francis, Vincent Francis, Rev. Elmo Hermon and Everes Williams; grandchildren, DeShawn D. Donahue, Shamel D. Shabazz (aka Denzi Donahue), Dyreeta Donahue, Shanai K. F. Anderson, Kerion J. and Loralie Monsanto, Joseph, Clarence, Allessio Jr., Alcello Sr. and Allron Monsanto, and Omarie, Allasia, Leron E. and Tess M. Monsanto; great-grandchildren, Diamond Denee Benson, Ryan Aaron Brown, De'Schay Nin-Ashley Brown, Dominique Monet Roman, Shanae Alexis Shabazz, Justice Shabazz, Jazzmine, Alleyone, Jalania, T'Niqua and Allette Monsanto, and Allessio III, Allannio, Alcello Jr., Alebbo and Aleyyo Monsanto; cousins, Peter Francis, Robert Francis, Austin "Babe" Monsanto, Liston Monsanto, Leroy Monsanto Jr., Esonia Monsanto Hassel and family, Millicent Monsanto, Muriel Francis Jackson, Utah Francis Benjamin, Lucia Mulraine and family, the Fredericks, Francis, Vessup and Wessehoff families; and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
