Legislative Employees Delivered Some Cheer to the Queen Louise Home
December 18, 2003 — Legislative Employees on the island of St. Croix made a Santa like journey this morning after learning of some of the needs for the children at the Queen Louise Home.
Over six hundred dollars worth of necessities were raised and delivered to the home. The director of the home, Paula Powell, said the delivery came in the nick of time, because one of the items they were in dire need of, were baby wipes and they were about to go out shopping and now that need was met.
The gift giving Legislative family presented the children at the home with gifts that not only can be used for today but on into the future. Some of the items delivered were: bed sheets, Pampers, wipes, under wears for both boys and girls and a host of other items that were on the home's wish list.
Senate President [David] Jones said the effort was coordinated by the central staff office on St. Croix and he commends them for their kind hearted goodwill and said that both he and his colleagues on St. Croix were indeed delighted to be a part of making this Christmas a little more enjoyable for the dear children at the Queen Louise Home.
