THERE'S A LOT GOING ON IN FREDERIKSTED ON DEC. 19

Dec. 16, 2003 – "This Friday, Frederiksted is celebrating," reads a release from the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts, which is hosting an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. on that day
The open house is to show off the 2004 Island Art & Soul Calendar — which marks the 10th anniversary for the annual visual arts showcase project. The center, located at No. 10 Strand Street, also will be raffling an oil painting by St. Croix artist Maria Henle "and other local vendors' goods."
But that's just one of many things going on in Frederiksted this Friday evening, museum owner Candia Atwater notes.
There's the second anniversary "Sunset Jazz in Frederiksted" concert in Veterans Park on the waterfront, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring the sounds of St. Thomas piano jazz artist Roan Creque and his band, R.C. and Friends and presented by the Frederiksted Economic Development Association. (For details, see "Creque and company to perform for 'Sunset Jazz'".)
"Shops will be open for last-minute shoppers," Atwater says, and Farmers in Action will be selling their wares, too, at the center.
According to Atwater, "This is the way it was, so come out and enjoy one of the loveliest towns in the Caribbean. Make dinner reservations at your favorite restaurant, or enjoy the local food provided by vendors."
