I too would like to add my support to Delegate to Congress Donna Christiansen's call for the federal government to come to the rescue of the Virgin Islands. I cannot imagine a more urgent situation — our debt is skyrocketing at the hands of the current administration and only an idiot would find the logic in deterring the Economic Development Commission companies from doing business in the territory. Those entities are single-handedly spurring the struggling economy on. Why would the governor want to bite the very hand that is feeding him? It is mind-boggling
We still don't have an active tourism initiative, air fares are staggering, there is yet another extension for the landfill because the powers that be refuse to acknowledge that this is a serious problem that could and should result in the closing of the St. Croix airport, and still they persist in their ways. Borrow more money and offer no real solutions. It truly is the stuff of a sit com, if it wasn't so tragic. Governor Charles Turnbull is an embarrassment to us all and should be stripped of his office immediately, along with the Senators. The money saved by not having to pay for their extravagant lifestyles alone would cut the debt dramatically. What is going to have to happen before people wake up and take action?
