Dec. 1, 2003 The Coral Bay Community Council will meet Monday, Dec. 8, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the John's Folly Learning Institute
This is the second meeting of the newly formed group.
Sharon Coldren will speak on Coral Bay's designation as an Area of Particular Concern.
"I'll talk about its practical uses and implementation of goals," Coldren said.
The discussion will include information on places to look for federal money as well as working with the Planning and Natural Resources Department.
Committee assignments will be discussed as well.
Coldren said future meetings will include forums open the public.
She said about 40 people attended the first meeting Nov. 17. It dealt mainly with organizational issues.
Membership, which is necessary in order to vote, is open to residents and landowners in the Coral Bay area and the East End of St. John at $20 per year. The group is also seeking donations to help it become established.
Board members are Coldren, Alvis Christian, Jean Cottrell, Jeff Donnelly, Marie Naisby and Kent Irish. The group has not yet elected officers.
