THANK YOU TO UNKNOWN GOOD SAMARITAN

Dear Source,
My husband and I would like to say a belated "Thank You" to a good Samaritan.
In March 2001 my husband and I were on vacation on St. Thomas with our two small children. We had a lovely time and spent, spent spent. We spent so much that we decided to take an open-air "dollar" taxi to the airport. We were very surprised when the "taxi" dropped us off at a bus stop, not the airport. The taxi driver said that the airport was "right down the street" and we could walk to it. We were standing there with our luggage, a three-year-old and a baby wondering how we were going to make it when all we could see was the runway, we could not even see the terminal.
Right next to the bus stop was a green and white barbeque "pit." A young lady was stepping down from it and when she saw us she asked us is she could help. By this time the baby was crying and it was getting hotter. We told her that we were trying to catch a taxi to the airport but none would take us from the bus stop to the airport. She told us that she would take us. I said you're kidding, how much? She said she wasn't kidding and there was no charge. I asked her if she had to ask her dad for permission. She laughed and said that the owner of the pit was her brother, not dad. She put my husband in the front seat of a burgundy/red Chevy Blazer. She put my baby in her daughter's car seat and took a booster seat out of the back and buckled my three year old into it. I asked her why she had so much stuff and she said that she was always prepared and on the rare occasion that her daughter was going to ride with someone else she always had the booster seat to send with her.
On the way to the terminal my husband asked her to at least take some money for gas or at least put it in her daughter's piggy bank. She again said no thanks. She told us that she knew that traveling with a small child was not easy and that many times if it wasn't for a stranger she didn't know how she would have managed. She dropped us off and even got us a red cap. She would not even take money to pay for the parking meter. Both my husband and I hugged her. I'm ashamed to say that I'm not even sure if she told us her name.
This is what we know about her. She was a beautiful girl with long dark hair and light brown skin. Very petite. We were shocked when she told us that she had a three year old daughter. Her brother owns the green and white bar be que pit at the airport entrance and drives a black truck. She drove a burgundy or red Chevy Blazer. Her mother's name is Marie (our older daughter is also Marie, so that was hard to forget). She had just returned from Philadelphia and she went to Georgia Tech. If any one knows who she is please tell her "thank's for being so kind to us." One more thing, she called her daughter "Lucky" and was able to discuss Nietzsche with my husband.
Sincerely,
Angela, Tim, Marie and Maegahn Martin-Giles
