SEMINAR ON TAX COMPLIANCE, RECORDS

The UVI Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will conduct the third in its series of seminars entitled "Checklist for Starting a Business in the Virgin Islands" from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, at the SBDC training center at Nisky Center on St. Thomas. Presented in collaboration with the V.I. Internal Revenue Bureau, the seminar will focus on tax compliance and record keeping. It is directed at business owners, potential business owners, employees and students. Among topics to be covered are which local and federal taxes you are obligated to pay; how taxes are computed; and how long records must be kept.
Seminar admission is $20. A $5 discount is available those who pre-register. The series is free to veterans of the U.S. military with valid identification, UVI faculty, staff and students.
