TWO MEN DEAD IN APPARENT AMBUSH

Nov. 20, 2003 – Two men are dead, the result of an apparent ambush Wednesday night in Estate Glynn.
The two men were sitting near an abandoned building at 58 Estate Glynn when shots were fired from a late-model Ford Explorer, leaving one of the men dead, according to a police report. The other died later at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, according to Sgt. Thomas Hannah, Police Department spokesman.
Both men were in their mid-twenties, Hannah said.
The police have the vehicle in custody. It was abandoned after a chase by police officers.
Hannah said the men's identities would not be released until next of kin had been notified.
He asked that anyone with information on the shootings call police at 778-2211 or emergency 911.
