AVALON: ST. CROIX HEALING RETREAT CENTER

Visualize: Like so many of us you've been working hard for months and years on end with the best of intentions, walking–and sometimes trudging–life's seemingly rewardless path with little relief. Or maybe you've recently experienced the loss of someone or something dear to you; a cherished dream or goal has been placed to the side for the time being; there has been an injury to body, mind or soul. Who knows, perhaps it is just that the drudgery of the day-to-day has caught up to your normally cheerful and well-balanced life and you feel you need a change, or at least a break, but you're not sure where to turn.
Well, it may just turn out that the answer is nearer than you think.
Welcome to Avalon Villa and Retreat Center, St. Croix's answer to life's unavoidable doldrums. Whether you're seeking out a center of retreat and healing, or you're looking for a space conducive to the deepening of your already-established spiritual and physical practice, Avalon is place to go.
Situated on a peaceful two-acre estate nestled among the green hills St. Croix , Avalon is the brain-child of Cynthia Belden, a Baltimore, Maryland, native who founded Avalon in order to, as she puts it, "Provide a place of beauty, serenity, nurturing and healing opportunities to people of the busy western world."
In pursuit of that noble end Avalon provides a variety of services ranging from one-day teaching and healing events, to week-long individual and group retreats, with an impressive list of spiritually oriented opportunities for the peaceful seekers of the world, including but by no means limited to: Reiki training and healing sessions; yoga classes; spa services tailored to the specific wishes of the guest; island adventure trips; caribbean cooking classes and retreat and healing packages and seminars delivered by a virtual who's-who among the world's healing artists.
Dorothy Martin Neville to Arrive in December
An ubiquitous saying of eastern, mystic descent has it that, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear," so all of the patient students out there may do well consider the possibility that the teacher will be appearing at Avalon in early December.
Dorothy Martin Neville, founder and president of the Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences, and adjunct faculty member of the University of Connecticut Medical School, will be sharing her wisdom and healing at Avalon from Dec. 1 to 7 in a week-long healing retreat.
In addition to the institute she created, which offers a four-year Energy Medecine Practitioner Program, Neville earned a master's degree in counseling and psychotherapy from St. Joseph College in West Hartford, Connecticut, in 1985, and is currently a Ph.D candidate at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology.
Beyond these western-tradition academic achievements, Neville is also an experienced practitioner of a number energy-related healing disciplines inclding Reiki, Jin Shin Do, reflexology, acupressure, iridology and Consegrity Therapy.
An overnight weekend session will be made available for those who cannot attend the week-long retreat with Neville, and her workshops and healing sessions will be available on an individual basis for people who aren't able to commit to either retreat.
