PAT TORCHIA IN NEW POST AT TRAVEL PUBLICATION

Nov. 16, 2003 – Loyalty, hard work and perseverance recently paid off for St. Thomas resident, Pat Torchia, as she found herself in the position of being named associate publisher of the popular local guidebook, "Discover St. Thomas and St. John."
Sue Gilman, publisher of the Discover books as well as Caribbean Travel and Life magazine, said in a release that, "Pat has proven herself to be an invaluable member of the Discover St. Thomas and St. John and Caribbean Travel and Life team. Her understanding of the marketplace and the fact that she lives on St. Thomas make her the ideal person to concentrate all her talents on Discover St. Thomas and St. John."
Torchia, who has more than 20 years of experience in the publishing and specialty publication management field, was promoted from her previous role as a sales representative due to the success of the hardcover guidebook, which is the official selection of the St. Thomas-St. John Hotel and Tourism Association.
Torchia's associate publisher responsibilities will commence with work on the 2005 edition, which has recently gone into production.
The Discover book is designed to provide visitors with an overview of shopping, restaurants and activities on St. Thomas and St. John and is made available in the rooms of all hotel association member hotels. The 2004 edition will be available beginning in January.
