U.S.V.I. SHOULD RESPOND IN KIND TO THE B.V.I.

Dear Source,
This is ridiculous. B.V.I. seizing boats, screwing people out of their livelihoods. What about the B.V.I. fleet that arrives almost daily in Red Hook to hit Kmart, Plaza Extra, etc. without clearing customs? Whose fishpots line the south shore of St. John and over toward Flanagan's Passage? Who's selling fish on the waterfront almost every morning without clearing customs?
When the "Belongers" got the call from Puerto Rico, they dropped all charges against the P.R. boat seized. Why? It's rumored that the ex-governor's daughter was on the boat, and can you imagine how hard it would hit them if the P.R. "weekend Navy" stopped coming over?
I've got a lot of friends in the B.V.I., but that government has to be brought to reality. Start arresting them for entry without inspection, illegal fishing or whatever. Stop going to Jost Van Dyke and the Willie T on weekends. Boycott The B.V.I. Regatta. I feel bad for the guys in Anegada, but after what the B.V.I. government did to the Berry kids, I'm sorry; I'll be fishing here to St. Croix next Memorial Weekend and sailing the Spanish Virgins.
Where is the outrage for what they did to the Berry kids? As I understand it, if you do get a fishing license, you're limited to 30 pounds of fish. Anything over that, and it goes to Road Town. Surprise, surprise.
This all seems to go back to when our beloved Tourism Department blew off ESPN on fishing tournaments, and, with local help, moved the whole focus to the B.V.I. Now they want all the charter boats and are resorting to blackmail to get them.
Sorry, Bruce, the Soares family, Callwoods, Quito, etc. I know it's not your fault, but I'm hoping you can do something about it. My little boycott is on. See you in Vieques, Culebra and Fajardo.
