Oct. 26, 2003 — A workshop for "Small Disadvantaged Businesses" on the new proposed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency rules for doing business with the federal government will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, on St. Thomas.
The workshop is held by EPA Region II through the V.I. Coordinator Office. It will be held at the Ron de Lugo Federal Building, first floor conference room, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Information will cover partnerships, contracts, cooperative and sub-agreements, research and demonstration grants, a release said.
Minority Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises and recipients of EPA loans or financial assistance agreements are encouraged to attend. EPA proposes to revise the Minority and the Women Business Enterprises "Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE)."
The session is open to groups or organizations which currently do, or would like to do, business with the federal government. There is no cost, the release said, to "groups and organizations that can benefit from this activity, such as the local government, universities/ institutions of higher education, hospitals and other nonprofit organizations."
