IBLE, RIVERA EARN ENTREPRENEUR AWARD

Oct. 18, 2003 –New Image Foundation Corp. and the Women¹s Network for Entrepreneurial Training (WNET) have named Cardina Rivera and Louis Ible Jr. of Flair Magazine as Entrepreneur of the Year on St. Thomas. Cheryl A. Tang How, owner of Visable Changes, was named Entrepreneur of the Year on St. Croix.
Flair Magazine, launched in 1998, is a lifestyle publication for residents of the Virgin Islands. Articles on personalities making a difference in the community and political and business leaders are featured along with entertainment and style trends. Ible is publisher and Rivera, co-founder and advertising director, develops the advertising strategy to meet the needs of clients.
Cheryl Tang How of St. Croix is the owner of Visable Changes, a full service salon for men and women. In 1988 she was nominated Small Business Woman of the Year by the St. Croix Foundation and the Small Business Administration. It is her elegantly simple vision of providing quality, savings, convenience, and personalized service that earned her the distinction of Entrepreneur of the Year.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Award was created to recognize outstanding men and women of business who demonstrate excellence in their field. Candidates were selected from the 2002-2003 Entrepreneur of the Month award winners on St. Croix and St. Thomas. Members of the general public selected the finalists for Entrepreneur of the Year. Each candidate received one of the greatest tributes in any field of endeavor — the recognition of their superior performance by their peers.
WNET meetings are held monthly on St. Thomas from noon to 1:30 p.m. at UVI-Small Business Development Center training facility, Suite 720 Nisky Center, and on St. Croix from noon to 1:30 p.m. at UVI-SBDC at Sunshine Mall. For information call New Image Foundation at 777-8883.
