5 NOMINATED TO TERMS ON UVI, WAPA BOARDS

Oct. 16, 2003 – Gov. Charles W. Turnbull sent the Legislature five nominations to the boards of the University of the Virgin Islands and the Water and Power Authority on Thursday.
They are:
– Bernard H. Paiewonsky, nominated to another five-year term on the UVI board of trustees. Paiewonsky is an adjunct research staff member of the Science and Technology Division of the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria, Virginia.
– Audrey Thomas-Francis, nominated to a five-year term on the UVI board, to replace Ellen Murraine, whose term has expired. Thomas-Francis is a Territorial Court judge on St. Thomas.
– Juanita M. Woods, nominated to a five-year term on the UVI board, to replace Paul Arnold, who has resigned. Woods is associate chancellor of the UVI St. Croix campus.
– Claude "Tappy" Molloy, nominated to another three-year term on the WAPA governing board. Molloy is a retired St. Thomas government official who served in the Senate for a number of years, including as president of the 10th Legislature.
– Yolander Samuel-Deterville, nominated to a three-year term on the WAPA governing board. She would replace Carol Burke, whose term has expired. Samuel-Deterville is a St. Croix Certified Public Accountant.
All of the nominations require Senate confirmation.
