ENERGY FAIR TO CELEBRATE PUBLIC POWER WEEK

Oct. 10, 2003 — The public is invited to an energy awareness fair at the Sunshine Mall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11.
The V.I. Water and Power Authority and the V.I. Energy Office are jointly presenting the fair in celebration of Public Power Week (Oct. 5-11) and Energy Awareness Month, said a release.
The fair will offer options available to consumers who want to make the most efficient use of their energy dollars to save money. Local vendors who specialize in alternative energy methods such as solar power will have displays. Live demonstrations will show ways that electric and water bills may be reduced. WAPA and Energy Office representatives will be available to answer questions.
The National Public Power Association sponsors the annual week, which is celebrated across the United States by events from lineworkers' rodeo to power plant tours. The federal governments sponsors Energy Awareness Month.
A fair will be held on St. Thomas on Oct. 18.
