MEDIA-GOVERNMENT PARTNERING AT WHAT PRICE?

Dear Source,
I completely agree with Senator Russell that "the media and the government should make it a top priority to create and share a vision of responsible reporting in order to project St. Croix in a light favorable enough to encourage residents to participate, expatriates to return, and investors to bring their money." (See "News media should partner with government".)
This approach has been highly successful in Cuba (Granma) and the Soviet Union (Pravda). Burma (or is it Myanmar?), the Peoples' Republic of China, Cambodia (Kampuchia?), Iraq until the infidels showed up, Iran, Afghanistan until the infidels showed up, and certain other paragon nations have demonstrated that nothing works better than a healthy cooperation, indeed partnership, between the media and the ruling class. Senator Russell has once again shown his remarkable insight into how free societies work, or should work, given the chance.
Anyone who thinks this amounts to propaganda is a Running Dog Capitalist Lackey and should be so identified in the press.
