SENATE HEARINGS CANCELED FOR WEDNESDAY

June 11, 2003 –– Two Senate meetings scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled because of a meeting the Legislature is attending with Gov. Charles W. Turnbull on St. Croix at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting is a continuation of an 11- hour meeting the governor and his staff held Monday with the senators to try and hammer out a solution to the territory's fiscal woes.( See "2nd Senate-administration session is Wednesday".)
Canceled are a 10 a.m. Planning and Environmental Protection Committee meeting on St. John to consider several Coastal Zone Management permits, and a 6 p.m. Education and Youth meeting to explore Board of Education matters and to get an update on the status of the Edith Williams Elementary School. No information on new dates for the meetings has been announced.
