UVI BULLETIN BOARD

May 22, 2003 – The University of the Virgin Islands Bulletin Board issued today has these announcements:
STARfest9 Continues May 24 and 25 at Reichhold Center
STARfest9, the annual theater production featuring the finest Virgin Islands dancers, musicians and comedians, concludes its four-night run with 8 p.m. performances on Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, at UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts. A cast of 40 — ranging in age from seven to 38 — is featured. Participants are vying for possible appearances on Star Search, the nationally televised CBS program hosted by Arsenio Hall. A grand prize of $100,000 is at stake.
This year's STARfest will include a modeling segment for the first time.
The show is directed by David Edgecombe. Tickets are $10, $18 and $25 and are available at the Reichhold Center Box Office on UVI's St. Thomas campus, Modern Music locations in Havensight Mall and Nisky Center, Parrot Fish, Krystals & Gifts Galore, and at the UVI Bookstore. While supplies last, individuals purchasing at least two tickets to the show will receive a free STARfest T-shirt.
STARfest9 Family Package Ticket Prices
The Reichhold Center is offering the following Family Package ticket specials for STARfest9:
— Family of 2-3/parents, one child: Lower Zone $25; Upper: $13
— Family of 4-5/parents, two-children: Lower: $30; Upper: $22
— Family of 6 (or more)/parents, four children: Lower: $40; Upper $25
All uncovered seats: "lower" is right behind the wall – "upper" is halfway up.
Cooperative Extension Service Announces 4-H Camp Registration
UVI's Cooperative Extension Service will offer 4-H Summer Academy camps on St. Thomas, St. John and St Croix for children ages five to 13 from June 23 through Aug. 1. 4-H Summer Academies provide a wide range of activities and educational programs. Cost is $150 per child, and $125 for each additional family member. UVI faculty and staff members qualify for discount rates. Camp locations will be announced in the near future. Birth certificates and immunization cards are required.
St Croix registration: June 3-6, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the UVI Research and Extension Center, room 130.
St. John registration: June 3-6 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension Service office located above Fashion Palace in Cruz Bay.
St. Thomas registration: June 3-6 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cooperative Extension Service office in the New House Building.

Human Resources Management Seminar Set June 4 on St. Croix
The UVI Small Business Development Center will be conducting a human resource seminar entitled, "Human Resource Management" from 5:45 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at the UVI-SBDC Training Center located in the Sunshine Mall lower level, St. Croix. For details and to pre-register, call UVI-SBDC at 692-5270.
UVI Application Deadline for Fall 2003 Classes Is May 30
May 30 is the deadline for prospective students to apply for admission to UVI's Fall 2003 classes. Undergraduate and graduate applications are being accepted. Individuals should submit an admissions application to the admissions office on either campus. Along with the UVI application, an official high school or college transcript is required. SAT or ACT scores should be included. CXC, GCE or CAPE results are required if applicable. The application fee is $20.
