SENATOR MALONE ATTENDS BUSINESS LABORATORY OPENING AT SPRAUVE SCHOOL ON ST. JOHN; COMMENDS BUSINESS COMMUNITY
Senator Shawn-Michael Malone attended the opening of the Julius Sprauve School's Business Laboratory on St. John last evening.
The School received twenty (20) new Dell desktop computers with flat top screens, a large color laser printer, a large black and white printer, twenty (20) typewriters, an air conditioning unit and a fully renovated classroom. These gifts were made possible through the fundraising efforts of the Julius Sprauve Gala Committee and Caneel Bay Resort.
"The computers and other equipment received will immensely enhance the educational experience of the Julius Sprauve students. The equipment will aid in curriculum support and in the development of computer literate pupils – a necessity for our technologically driven global society," Senator Malone stated.
"I must commend the Gala Committee and Caneel Bay Resort for their commitment to education and to our youth. This is an excellent example of public-private partnership at work, especially in such grave financial times. This kind of cooperation is extremely encouraging because the money spent on this laboratory has saved the Department of Education and this government thousands of dollars we otherwise now do not have to spend," Senator Malone added.
The Senator commends all businesses that have been contributing to various government related institutions and initiatives and especially to schools. Kudos to Caneel Bay and the Julius Sprauve Gala.
