MISSING CREWMAN SOUGHT IN DRUG SEIZURE CASE

May 9, 2003 – A Jamaican national wanted in connection with the smuggling of cocaine on a cruise ship is believed to be eluding federal authorities on St. Thomas.
The whereabouts of Lance Moore, 29, have been unknown since the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized 27 pounds of cocaine from his crew cabin on the luxury liner Constellation while the ship was in port on St. Thomas.
Senior Special Agent Isabel Vazquez said this week that Moore jumped overboard when he learned that the federal agents were searching the vessel.
"Moore is believed to be hiding on St. Thomas," and "an arrest warrant has been issued" for the Celebrity Cruises employee, she said.
Vazquez described Moore as being 5' 9" and 150 pounds with a dark complexion. Noting that the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement offers rewards for information, she asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact authorities by calling (800) 981-3030.
