WE ALL KNOW WHO GOT THE BEST V.I. CHRISTMAS

Dear Source,
My family and I just returned from a wonderful Christmas on St. Croix. Although we had a great time with family and friends, and although many gifts were given and enjoyed, no one on our island had a better Christmas than the governor, lieutenant governor and the senators.
The "gifts" they received were the best of all. At a time when the economy is struggling under the weight of a staggering debt, they had the unbelievable gall to give themselves incredible pay raises. Did they earn them for their leadership and insightful legislation? Or did they merely sell the voters out once again dreaming of profits from the video gaming terminals that they handed to St. Thomas/St. John while dooming the Robin Bay project on St. Croix, which would have created more jobs, hotel rooms and held the promise of infusing some real growth into our economy?
The St. Croix senators who voted in favor of this latest bad joke need to resign at once. Their actions are incomprehensible and cannot be defended under any circumstances.
Sadly I must say to the voters that the antics of the Legislature and governor do not come as a surprise. You had the chance to make a change in November and were once again led down a primrose path, which will lead to more despair in the territory. This is another embarrassment: Who will ever want to do business in such a corrupt and leaderless place?
When will we stand up and say enough is enough?
