FLUTE-OBOE DUO TO PERFORM AT ST. JOHN SCHOOL

Dec. 31, 2002 – Flautist and frequent St. John visitor Nancy Ruffer, who often performs as a guest artist with the St. John Singers, will join forces with oboist John Anderson for a performance on Sunday evening at the St. John School of the Arts.
The program of classical music will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the school in Cruz Bay Tickets are $10 at the door.
Ruffer, the daughter of St. John winter residents Elsbeth and Walter Ruffer, is a freelance musician in London, where she plays the flute with a variety of ensembles and chamber groups in addition to appearing as soloist with orchestras.
Anderson is the principal oboe player with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London.
Ruffer said Saturday's program will include a Sonata by C.P.E. Bach, a Capriccio by Ponchelli, a Solo for Oboe by Donizetti and a piece by Faure. For more information, call 776-6191.
