INAUGURAL SCHEDULE: 3 ISLANDS, 3 DAYS, 6 BALLS

Dec. 30, 2002 – The Inaugural Committee released the following schedule on Monday of events relating to the inauguration of Gov. Charles W. Turnbull for his second term and of Vargrave Richards as his new lieutenant governor.
St. Thomas activities will take place on Jan. 6:
8 a.m. – ecumenical worship service, Christ Church Methodist
10 a.m. – military parade, Veterans Drive
11:30 a.m. – swearing-in ceremony, Emancipation Garden
1:30 p.m. – luncheon for dignitaries, Palms Court Harborview Hotel
3 p.m. – public reception, Government House
7 p.m.-1 a.m. – two inaugural balls, at Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Beach Resort and at Wyndham Sugar Bay Beach Club and Resort.
St. John events will take place on Jan. 7:
10:30 a.m. – ecumenical worship service, St. Ursula's Episcopal Church
12:30 p.m. – public reception, The Battery
7 p.m. – inaugural ball, Westin Resort St. John.
St. Croix events are planned for Jan. 8:
8 a.m. – ecumenical worship service, Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church
10:30 a.m. – military parade, King Street, Frederiksted
Noon – post-inaugural ceremony, Buddhoe Park
2 p.m. – luncheon for dignitaries, Carambola Hotel
4:30 p.m. – public reception, Government House
9 p.m.-1 a.m. – three inaugural balls, at Gertrude's Restaurant, St. George Village Botanical Garden and The Cormorant Beach Club and Hotel.
The Inaugural Committee is chaired by Alvin O. Davis. Other members are June Adams, St. Thomas chair; Ohanio Harris, St. Croix chair; Julien Harley, St. John chair; Lynette Emanuel, St. Croix co-chair; and Sandra Brunet, assistant to Davis.
