TOWED JUNKER OWNERS HAVE 10 DAYS TO CLAIM THEM

Dec. 27, 2002 – Anyone who owns an old vehicle that appeared abandoned and so was towed from the downtown Christiansted area in the last week has 10 days from the date of towing to claim it and remove it from the Public Works Department compound in Anna's Retreat.
The Governor's Junked Vehicle Removal Task Force began towing derelict cars and other vehicles on Tuesday to tidy up the downtown area and free up parking space in preparation for the Crucian Festival parades.
St. Croix Administrator Gregory Francis said in a release that derelict vehicles parked along the streets are being towed from residential and business areas of downtown Christiansted regardless of whether they have license tags on them.
For further information on claiming and retrieving towed vehicles, call the administrator's office at 773-1404 or William Harvey at the Police Department, 778-2311.
