SERVICE TO REMEMBER SHEILA AND WILLIAM HURST

Nov. 11, 2002 – A joint memorial service for Sheila Mary Harrison Hurst and William Hurst will be held Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. at the St. Thomas Reformed Church on Nye Gade.
Both Hursts died at Roy L. Schneider Hospital this year, Sheila on Oct. 29 and William on Aug. 25.
Sheila, 81, was born in Leigh, England, and moved with her parents to Rhode Island when she was 5 years old. William, 84, was born in Rhode Island. The Hursts moved to St. Thomas from Rhode Island shortly after their marriage in 1948.
Both Hursts were well known in the community. Sheila taught kindergarten at All Saints Cathedral School for 26 years. She was an active community member, serving on the council of alcoholism and the Church History Society. William had a 35-year career in the commercial marine industry. He was well known in boating circles and in Frenchtown.
They are survived by their daughters, Sheila Kudlacik, Melissa Vaughn and Margaret Hurst; son, William H. Hurst; son-in-law, George Kudlacik; grandchildren, Dylan Hurst, Alison and Michael Kudlacik and James Vaughn; nephew, Richard Berry; niece, Nancy Berry; the Bailey family; and many friends.
Both Hursts have been cremated.
