TWO RACES ARE A WARM-UP FOR THE TRIATHLON

May 1, 2002 – Two annual running events are leading up to the Half-Ironman Triathlon, according to a release from V.I. Pace Runners.
The 14th annual Paradise 5K Run will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday May 2 at the Buccaneer Hotel. The 3.1-mile race is run on the portion of the Buccaneer grounds that are part of the Half-Ironman Triathlon course. Registration begins at 5 p.m. near the guard house and the starting line.
The fourth annual Children Run Christiansted will kick off the Triathlon Jump Up at 6 p.m. Friday. This race is for children 13 and under, and nine and under. Registration begins at 5 p.m. at the Times Square start line. The race is 630 meters down King Street to finish at the Scale House.
It is hosted by the Christiansted Hotel and Merchants Association and sponsored by Metro Motors. There is no entry fee.
