HARBOUR NIGHT TO SHOWCASE CARIBBEAN FUSION

Feb. 22, 2002 – Visitors from aboard the cruise ship Victory will get a taste of St. Croix's student talent at Wednesday's Harbour Night festivities in Frederiksted, where the Caribbean Fusion Band from the Educational Complex will be the featured musical group.
Also performing will be The Noels, Dem Boyz, Digital Band and Willard John's Moko Jumbies.
The festivities get under way at 7:30 p.m. and go until 11:30. As usual, parking will be banned on Strand Street from 5 p.m. to midnight, and any vehicles found there will be towed at their owners' expense.
More than 50 arts, crafts, food and drink vendors will be offering their wares, and there'll be the usual fund-raising activities to benefit the Karamu Afi Dance and Drum Troupe, St. Croix Animal Shelter and St. Croix Deaf Coalition. The fund-raising activities for these not-for-profit groups are sponsored by Divi Carina Bay Casino, the local McDonald's, International Asset Management, Kapok Management, The Lost Dog and Motown Bar and Restaurant.
Harbour Night is presented on alternate Wednesdays year-round by the Tourism Department, Centennial Wireless, Budget Rent-A-Car, Dalton Associates and the Frederiksted Economic Development Association. The event is scheduled to coincide with the time that the Victory's call at the Frederiksted port.
