SCHOLARSHIPS FOR UVI COURSE OFFERED TO TEACHERS

Nov. 11, 2001 – The V.I. Board of Education will offer scholarships to current public elementary and secondary school teachers to take the Virgin Islands History course at the University of the Virgin Islands, on St. Thomas and on St. Croix, for the 2002 spring semester.
The course is three credits, and the scholarships offer full coverage.
A number of teachers took advantage of a similar scholarship offer previously, and the class was filled last semester, said Sandyl Elskoe-Julien of the board office.
Interested teachers should call the board's office at 774-4546 to be placed on the eligible list, a release said.
