BALLPARK LIGHTING, ROAD DEDICATION PUT OFF

Dec. 11, 2001 – The lighting of Lionel "Smut" Richards Ballpark in Smith Bay and the formal dedication of Emile "Milo" Francis Highway, which is Smith Bay Road, both have been postponed until further notice. They had been scheduled for Tuesday.
Housing, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Ira Hobson said some technical problems at the ballpark need to be resolved. Once that is done, he said, a new date for dedicating the lighting will be set.
