WALSH BATIKS TO GO ON DISPLAY AT ALEXANDER'S

June 12, 2001 – The public is invited to Alexander's Café on Friday evening for a reception to meet and greet St. Thomas batik artist Doreen Walsh and to view her recent works from a collection she calls "Figures and Fronds."
Walsh has been creating original Caribbean images in the wax-resist dye medium for more than a decade on St. Thomas. Her work is represented by The Color of Joy and can also be found in many galleries and gift shops in the territory.
Her exhibit is the first in what will be an ongoing monthly series in the Frenchtown restaurant. The reception, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., will feature complimentary champagne and appetizers and a chance at door prizes.
On Friday evening, Alexander's also will feature a special three-course, prix fixe menu for $27. Those wishing to remain after the reception to dine are asked to reserve ahead by calling 774-4349.
Click here for details of the special menu, available June 15 only.
