CARNIVAL MILE TRADITION CONTINUES

April 28, 2001 – Though the field was slightly smaller than in previous years for the 19th annual St. Thomas Association of Roadrunners one-mile Carnival Run, it was more than made up for in enthusiasm, according to race director Craig Marek.
The two top winners were 20-year-old Jabari Goodwin in the men's division in a time of 5:12 and Tyfia Lee, 14, from the Joseph Gomez track team. Lee ran the long hot mile in a time of 6:10.
The run, which begins at Western Cemetery and ends at Roosevelt Park , is open to runners, joggers, and walkers of all the ages. All proceeds go to the St. Thomas-St. John Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Check this section later for full report of all runners and their times.
