EDUCATION COMMITTEE TO MEET MARCH 5 & 12

The Senate Committee on Education will hold public hearings on March 5 and 12 on St. Croix and St. Thomas regarding federal grant programs, school nutrition programs, instructional materials and the teacher shortage.
Committee Chairman Norman Jn Baptiste has asked a number of Education Department officials to testify, including school superintendents for both districts, Assistant Commissioner Noreen Michael and Human Resources Director Alcess Brown.
The hearings, beginning at 10 a.m., will be in the Legislative Conference Room on St. Croix and in Senate chambers on St. Thomas.
