51 RUN AND WALK DESPITE RAIN

Neither rain nor Super Bowl parties kept the 51 walkers and runners(and two dogs)away from Sunday afternoon's United Way Fun Run/Walk on the Waterfront.
This two-mile event, directed by the St Thomas Association of Roadrunners, was the last leg of the fundraising year for United Way.
Though the number of participants was less than the previous year, Thyra Hammond,United Way executive director, and board member and event chairwoman, Yanick Bayard were both very pleased with the turnout as well as with the high spirits of the group.
The two-mile run produced some fast times in spite of a busy afternoon on the Waterfront. The first runner across the finish line was Dwayne Allen in 12:19, placing him first in the male 16 and older category. The first male in the 15 and under group was Madison Van Huerck in 14:29. The first female finisher under age 16 was Annecia Williams in 14:43. She was closely followed by the first female finisher in the 16 and older age group, Charlotte Morris, in 14:50.
Awards were also given to the oldest participant, Choupet Braure and
the youngest Mia Blyden.
