TICKETS IN DEMAND FOR SPORTS CENTER OPENING

Free tickets to the grand opening of the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center on Friday have gone so fast, and are in such demand, that UVI is asking anyone who obtained a ticket but is unable to attend to return it.
Ticket outlets where tickets can be returned are Modern Music (Nisky and Havensight), Krystal & Gifts Galore (Tutu Park Mall), Parrot Fish, both UVI bookstores, the Reichhold Center for the Arts and Connections on St. John.
On the night of the event, UVI expects the parking area adjacent to the Sports and Fitness Center to fill quickly. The public is encouraged to car pool or use one of three parking lots within walking distance of the Sports and Fitness Center, next to the Classroom Administration Building, on the hill facing the Sports and Fitness Center.
Shuttle buses also will run from the Reichhold Center Parking Lot to the Sports and Fitness Center.
Once a ticketholder enters the Sports and Fitness Center and subsequently leaves the building, re-entry will not be allowed.
The grand opening begins at 7 p.m. The evening will include a brief opening ceremony, recognition of the first group of inductees to UVI's Athletic Hall of Fame and the inaugural basketball games.
