POLICE ARREST COMPANION IN ROLLE MURDER

Ian Tracy, 19, was arrested Monday morning in connection with the New Year's Eve murder of a woman police described as his ex-girlfriend.
Tracy had told police that Adassa Rolle, 18, of Thomasville was fatally shot by unknown gunmen during a robbery while the two sat in their vehicle around 5 a.m. Dec. 31 at Green Cay Plantation. Police found Rolle dead of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Police spokeswoman Sgt. Annette Raimer said that Tracy was a graduate of the Antilles School and that he and Rolle were romantically linked before Tracy left for college off-island in June 2000. Raimer did not comment on what led to the arrest of Tracy in connection with the murder, though she did say he had been visiting St. Thomas for the holidays.
Tracy is being held without bail pending an advice-of-rights hearing in Territorial Court on Tuesday.
