Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has named as acting executive director of the V.I. Lottery Austin L.D. Andrews.
Andrews, who had been serving as the Department of Labor's Coordinator of Plants and Facilities, took over his new post Tuesday. A longtime government employee, he has worked in Labor for the past 13 years.
Andrews replaces George Golden, who retired last week.
On his first day heading the Lottery, Andrews issued a statement that drawing No. 530 scheduled for Thursday has been postponed until Tuesday, Jan. 9. Golden said the holidays and the Crucian Festival caused the delay.
