2 HURT WHEN VEHICLE SLAMS INTO SCHOOL BUS

Two people were injured when a passenger vehicle collided with a school bus early Monday morning on Centerline Road on St. John's East End.
"A school bus carrying 10 students heading westbound from Coral Bay to Cruz Bay was hit by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction ," according to Lt. Joseph Gumbs of the Zone A Police Command.
The accident occurred near the Junction 20 turnoff to Northshore Road on Route 10 (Centerline Road) about 7:25 a.m.
"Two people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to the clinic for treatment and observation," Gumbs said. No students were injured in the mishap.
According to one student who was riding in the school bus, the other vehicle "may have been on the wrong side of the road . When it hit the bus it jumped into the air and headed straight for the bush and off the side of the road."
Police said no tickets were issued since the matter is still under investigation.
The school bus service on St. John is contracted by the government to Varlack Ventures.
Following the early morning accident, students were transported by taxi to Cruz Bay for school or transfer to the ferry to Red Hook, St. Thomas.
