PEDESTRIAN DIES AFTER AUTO ACCIDENT

Kenon Brasher, 48, died early Sunday morning after he and his wife were struck by a car while crossing the street from Red Hook Plaza to American Yacht Harbor at 4:50 p.m. Saturday.
Brasher's wife, Annette, was also hit. She suffered a shattered wrist and back injuries, and remains in stable condition at Roy L. Schneider Hospital, according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Annette Raimer.
The Brashers were struck by a blue Toyota driven by an as-yet unidentified 31-year-old man. According to witnesses, the couple had made it halfway across the street while an eastbound vehicle waited for them to pass, when the Toyota traveling in the westbound lane struck them, knocking them onto the sidewalk, Raimer said.
Police Capt. Justin Lettsome of the Traffic Division said the driver has not been charged with anything. However, the investigation is continuing, he said.
Kenon Brasher was an airline mechanic employed by K & A Aviation.
