CHARLES ‘DARKIE' THOMPSON DEAD AT 94

Charles "Darkie" Evans Thompson of Mahogany Welcome died Sunday, Oct. 22 at Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was 94. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3l at St. John's Anglican Church. A viewing will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Interment will take place at Christiansted Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his daughters, Eleanor Thompson and Thyra Thompson-Timothy; sons, James, Emile, Maynel and Christian "Te"Thompson; grandchildren, Alexis, Arlene, Andrew Thompson, Anthony Norris Harris Jr., Summer Harris, Raymond " Rocky " and Roland Parris, Sherry Anne Timothy, Winifred "Tina" Timothy, Howard and HermanThompson Jr., Juanita, Jennifer Roebuck, Diane Earl and Elroy Roebuck.
He is survived by great grandchildren, John and Eric Crump, Shamary Timothy, Elijah Francis, Shakeem Harry, Omary Oversen, Aaron Lang, JahlangWilliams, Roanna and Ramoft Parris, Shekila, Shinifa Parris; Ian Parris and Shackirah Parris and others; 14 great great grandchildren; son-in-law: Donald Francis; daughter-in-law, Alma Thompson; grand son-in-law, Butch Simmon; special nieces, Teryy Gaskin and Juanita Roebuck and numerous nephews.
Also survived by cousins, Beatrice Emanuel, RitaThompson Corbie , Jean Thompson and Lester Milligan; close friends, Charles Morton, Doris "Cookie" Roberts, Henry "Dude" Jeffers, Julyan Mintas-Parris, Maude King, Gynette Civil, Jaslyn Durant, and Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights, along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of James Funeral Home.
