2 SAID TO BE HELD AFTER SUGAR ESTATE SHOOTOUT

Two persons are in police custody after a reported shootout Monday night in Sugar Estate, according to law enforcement sources.
Police investigators responding to reports of shots fired on Sixth Street are said to have arrested the two persons involved in the shootout, which left at least one vehicle bullet-riddled. Sources said the shooting appeared to result from a drug deal that may have gone awry.
Police on St. Thomas have not commented on the shootout or identified the suspects reportedly charged Monday night. Anyone with information should call police at 774-4050 or the emergency number 911.
