IRB SHUTS DOWN ST. CROIX FIRM, SEIZES ASSETS

Agents of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Internal Revenue on Wednesday shut down a St. Croix business and seized its assets for nonpayment of taxes.
HMS Pest Control Services in Estate Richmond was closed down, according to executive branch sources. The IRB took possession of the company's five Chevy pickup trucks and all other property belonging to it.
The only comment from officials in the IRB collections division was that while such seizures of property are last resorts when back taxes have been owed for a long time, they are routine in tax enforcement.
The owner of HMS Pest Control Services, William Skinner, had no comment when contacted Wednesday afternoon.
