TOURISM CALENDAR OFFERS ADVERTISEMENT

The VI Tourism Department said they are now accepting information for their annual Calendar of Events. The 2001 calendar, which will feature all local events and holidays, will be distributed to local, national and international markets through Martin Public Relations' periodic updates.
According to Tourism Commissioner Rafie Jackson the department is currently accepting information on upcoming local events. Jackson said all private, civic, and governmental groups and individuals are encouraged to submit information "as soon as possible."
The department is looking to increase the awareness of the territory's cultural and heritage tourism,"Jackson said.
There is no cost to people who offer a listing to the calendar, according to Anderson.
All event information should be submitted by Friday, Sept 15 to Anderson at P.O. Box 6100, St. Thomas, VI 00804 or delivered to Tourism's executive office at Estate Contant 78-1-2-3 across from the Nisky Moravian Church. Anderson said they will not accept e-mail submissions.
