PARADISE 5K GOES TO THE DIVI

The 12th Annual Paradise 5k Road Race, which kicks-off St. Croix International Triathlon week activities, will have a new course this year.
The race, scheduled for Sunday morning April 30, usually starts at Southgate and finishes in Christiansted. This year it will start east of Cramer Park and finish at Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino.
The 3.1-mile road race is hosted by Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino for the first time. The race is open to runners of all levels who will be awarded prizes provided by the host.
Prizes include: One night accommodations for the first place male and female overall; dinner for two for the second place male and female finishers; lunch for two for the third place male and female finishers and a special raffle for one-night accommodation (raffle open to participants in the race only).
Following the race will be the annual awards presentation for the participants in V.I. Pace Runners "Run Like The Wind–Road Race Series" for 1999-2000. Awards will also be presented to the participants in the First Marathon Road Relay Race of the Century.
Refreshments will be served and details given for upcoming events, including The Women’s Race, The 26th Annual Virgin Islands Half-Marathon, The Douglas Wakiihuri Running Camp, The Society of Olympic Marathon Runners Symposium and The First Marathon of the Millennium (to benefit The Shining Star Tutor Program). A special video presentation will also be made.
