ALTER LEADS THE PACK IN EAST END 15K

Grace Tuma and Peter Alter led 13 runners in Sunday's Silk Greenery 15K Road Race around St Thomas's East End starting at 6:30 a.m.
The challenging course familiarly known as the "country loop" is hilly and offers little shade but many runners were undaunted. St John's Peter Alter ran swiftly and came in at 1:05:06. He was followed by Adam Thill, also of St. John, in 1:06:17.
Issac Aronsen was the third man in a time of 1:12:39. Ricky Charlemagine of St John ran in 1:13:09. He was followed by Gerald Wentworth in a time of 1:16:02. Tom Kelly of St John came in at 1:17:07, Roi Simmonds in 1:23:29,and Frank Jackson in 1:30:51.
Grace Tuma was the fourth finisher overall and first woman in a time of 1:14. She was followed by Kathy McMurtrie, of St John in 1:17:08. Therese Hodge came in at 1:20:12, Charlotte Morris in 1:22:35, and Lyn Dohm in 1:51:52.
St Thomas Association of Roadrunners sponsored the race.
