Once again I am completely bowled over by the Virgin Island legal system. Let me get this correct. If a person in high government office is charged with embezzlement from the government of the Virgin Islands, (the peoples money!!!!), all they have to do is pay the money back? Sounds like nirvana for any crook who can get elected. Is Roy Schneider completely off the hook? What about his cohorts? Did the $50,000.00 Schneider paid or is going to pay, get them a free ride also?
How can the prosecuting attorney accept this deal? This is an admission of guilt if
I've ever seen one! Does this effectively put the brakes on any further investigations into this known, corrupt administration?
Actually, this situation is more of a sad event in the history of the Virgin Islands
than anything else. Once again, a chance to make an example of a criminal in high office has slipped through the fingers of the powers that be. This is just another signal to the youth of the Virgin Islands that this type of behavior is just fine.
Roy Schneider, you should be ashamed of yourself!
