Two persons were reported wounded at the Sunny Isle Shopping Center Friday afternoon when the occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire in a drive-by shooting in front of the Kmart store.
Deputy Police Chief Novelle Francis said detectives were dispatched to the scene in response to reports of the shootings at 3:40 p.m. An adult male and a female minor, both innocent bystanders, were wounded by the gunfire.
Witnesses described the two vehicles as a green Ford or Mazda pickup truck and a Jeep Cherokee and said both sped away after the exchange of shots.
