PLAN 8 ADDRESSES HISTORIC BUILDINGS

Dear Source,
After reading Jose Ortega's article on Plan 8, I wonder if there are 43 (long term) alternatives? He is of course coming from the direction of an architect (perhaps looking for work) who lives here when it is convenient for him.
I have said in the past that I am not sure that Plan 8 is the answer, however the only people responding to alternatives are architects looking for a job. Also, they most times do not live here full time and are not interested in the life people that do live here full time have.
I am interested in the traffic problem and want to hear from people who have ideas that will benefit St. Thomas not themselves.
Plan 8 does address the people that live and were born here, not to mention the Historic Buildings of Charlotte Amalie, the one thing that outsiders have not been able to remove!
I would also like to mention that you list Mr. Ortega as a "consultant on the Emancipation Park project, this is only because he has the "T-Square", everyone knows that the park was designed by the Historic Preservation Commission of that time.
In closing, I would like to say that I view Mr. Ortega's position as just another vulture circling the Federal Highway Funds!
