Two men robbed the Western Union office on Dronningens Gade behind the Green House late Monday morning, escaping with $1,800 in cash and one $250 check.
An employee of Western Union told police she was serving a customer when a tall black man wearing a stocking mask and wielding a handgun entered the store and told her to turn over the money in her cash pan.
Deputy Police Chief Theodore Carty said the employee then noticed a second masked man attempting to close the main door to the building.
Carty said as soon as the employee turned over the money to the first man, the pair of masked robbers took off toward Main Street.
Police were called at 11:25 a.m.
Carty said police have no suspects at this time. He asked anyone with information on the robbery to call 774-4050 or 911.
