MORE CHINESE NATIONALS PICKED UP SUNDAY

Ten to 15 Chinese Nationals were taken into custody Sunday morning after they landed on St. Thomas illegally.
While no confirmation was immediately available from either the Virgin Islands Police or the Immigration and Naturalization Service, sources said the illegal aliens were first sighted at 6 a.m. in the Tabor and Harmony area.
Police responded to the area where three officers from the Zone C Command — Derrick Greaves, Kent Bellot and James Blyden Jr. — held the Chinese nationals, none of whom spoke English, until INS officials arrived at the scene.
A resident at a house next door to where the Chinese nationals were apprehended
prepared a meal for them. They had landed here overnight, swum to shore and made their way to an abandoned home.
INS officials arrived at the scene about 90 minutes after they were first called. The illegal Chinese nationals were turned over for extradition proceedings.
